The Hunger Games

I just finished The hunger Games.  I only bought the first in the series because I was too cheap and the other two aren't out in paperback yet.  I bought it on Tuesday; it really is a quick read.  I enjoyed it.  I didn't mean to read the entire thing without posting, but I didn't want to put it down.  lol.  I'm not sure what it was that held my interest, but I enjoyed it.  I told my student that I picked it up and he was so excited to talk about it.  Some other boys in class heard us talking and were like, "are they talking about a book?"  It was pretty funny.

  1. I feel so sad that Rue died. :( I also feel so bad for Peeta. Why is he so in love with her. Very romantic though. It seems like Gale is a good guy too, but he had plenty of time to act if there was going to be a relationship there. She should choose Peeta because she has feelings for him and he has proven himself tenfold. sheesh. What does a guy have to do in District 12 to get a little love?

  2. Yeah, I was sad that Rue died too. I felt wicked bad for Peeta. You know, I have come to the conclusion that guys have it way tougher than girls do. I mean I think it comes down to the way we experience and manage our emotions - girls are always experiencing so many emotions at once it is hard to just go with your gut like guys can do since they tend to experience emotions one at a time. They don't have as much emotional processing to do. That is my theory anyways. Katniss just doesn't know what she feels. I have been there. I agree that I wanted her to end up with Peeta though.
